Week 21-22

Get out your baseball gloves and everything blue because we are having a boy!! For the last several weeks we've been trying to be super patient and wait for the anatomy sonogram. A number of friends and family members shelled out extra money to know the sex of their baby early but we figured it be beneficial to wait. My mom got to come with us and experience a sonogram for the first time. When she was pregnant with me her doctor didn't believe in sonograms! (Oh, the 80's).... The doctor told us that everything looks amazing. No cleft lip or palate and all of his organs are on the inside of his body...

Here he is... Bean
On Saturday of that week one of Keagan's closest friends was married at her childhood home out in the country. And when I say country I mean COUNTRY... During the prayer cows kept mooing in the background.

Earlier that day, we started refinishing a cabinet we found. We wanted to use it in the baby's nook as a changing table. My mom and I found it at an estate sale for $12!! You can't beat that with a baseball bat...

A couple coats of paint and new knobs from Home Depot

Happy Easter!! Thank you Jesus for rising from the dead today to save our sins... And in honor of that we dyed Easter Eggs with our friend, Allie. WARNING to everyone out there... Do not text and dye eggs. I wasn't paying attention and I almost drank out of a cup with an egg dying in it. Thank goodness the egg hit the side of the cup before anything got into my mouth. LOL

Bean is kicking like crazy. We call them dance parties because he's so wild. This makes me nervous for when he's actually out in the world and I have to wrangle him.

your baby's the size of a papaya!
During month five, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces.

  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).

Week 19-20

March Madness is appropriate for the March we have coming up...

The annual Strawberry Festival was this week in Plant City, FL and if you can't tell by the strawberries we're holding the festival really delivered!

The Twins turned 3 this week! I'm really going to need them to stop growing up. I don't like it, they're too cute, and too smart. My mom, Keagan, and I brought them to Gatorland and while they were skeptical at first the minute we got through the gates they enjoyed themselves!

This belly is getting out of control!!!!!

The Bump.com says:

  • She's got working taste buds.

  • Now, she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.

    Week 17-18

I'm officially 27 years old! Happy birthday to me!! My friends and I went to a Solar Bear hockey game and then went out for sushi afterward. Don't worry! I stayed away from the fish... Gotta keep my little nuggest safe in there.

Also this week we had a photoshoot at work and I really got to see how big my bump is getting. It no longer looks like a beer belly but a real baby belly! The pictures came out great and I'm hoping they'll use them in the magazine.

Maybe we'll have a little hockey player one day!

    Mmmmm...sushi

  • Can you believe she's yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing?

  • And she's twisting, rolling, punching and kicking, too -- and she's big enough that you might be able to feel her doing it!

  •   (That's a sweet potato... scary looking!)

    Week 15-16

Husband (hehe) and I went on a mini-honeymoon this weekend to the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios. It was an absolutely gorgeous hotel and the room did not disappoint either. We took the water taxi from the hotel into City Walk and had dinner at Jimmy Buffet's.

My baby belly is really starting to show... Make Way for Baby....

    The Bump.com says:

  • She's listening to your voice, thanks to tiny bones forming in her ears.

  • She's growing hair, lashes and eyebrows.

  • And she's forming taste buds.

    Week 13-14

We've had a couple of crazy weeks! My father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last week. It was one of the most unexpected things that has ever happened in my life. A part of me wants to curl up in a ball and cry but the other part of me knows that I've got to stay positive for my family and my new baby. He will start treatments in a few weeks and we will hopefully know more then.

In response to my father being so sick and not having too many answers about his cancer; Keagan and I decided that we wanted to get married quickly so that my dad could walk me down the aisle.

Later on that week we got to see our baby! It's finally starting to look like a real baby instead of dinosaur. I was so happy to see it moving around and watch while it hiccuped on the monitor.

On Sunday, January 27th, Keagan and I tied the knot in front of our family lakeside in Mount Dora, FL. It wasn't anything we thought we'd ever wanted but we were surrounded by so much love and support that it made the wedding beyond special.

    The Bump.com says:

  • He's probably sucking his thumb and wiggling his toes in there!

  • His kidneys are making urine, and his liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too.

  • And he's growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over his body -- it will help him keep warm!

    Week 12

Keagan and I went to the doctor this week and got to hear baby-saurus' heartbeat for the first time!! It was the most amazing sound ever. I started crying, of course, and Keagan and the BIGGEST smile on face.

My bump is also continuing to grow.. and some more awesome news - I GOT THE JOB! I start next week at Parenting Magazine as an editorial assistant.

    The Bump.com says:
  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
  • She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow    and develop rapidly.
  • She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
  • She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
  • Her brain is developing fast!

    Week 10

We've decided to start documenting my stomach growth. Thank God for pinterest and all of its crafty ideas. The nausea and vomitting are still around. I've learned that I have to eat every 2 hours to keep my stomach full. I have to eat through the nausea, which is a feat in and of itself.

I also had my a job interview today for Parenting Magazine... The irony is not lost on me. I'm very excited because the Executive Editor and I got along amazingly well. Keep your fingers crossed...

    The Bump.com says:

  • Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.

  • Her vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.

  • Her fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.

  • Plus, she's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)

    Week 9

FINALLY!! Keagan moved me home this week and I will get to ring in the new year in Florida with my friends and NO SNOW!

We did hit some serious snow on our way home heading through the mountains of Pennsylvania. It was one of the scariest things I've ever done. Royce behaved so well the entire trip and we made it in 2 days.

Later that week we celebrated 2013 with a few our friends, Jessica, Alexis, and her boyfriend, Dennis. We went downtown and hung out at Finnigan's. We left at 12:04am and headed home to avoid the traffic and didn't even see one police officer our entire drive home.

  • She's developing more distinct facial features.
